Grabe the Weekend That Was…

November just ended with a long time weekend since today, Monday is a holiday declared by the Philippine President Arroyo. Yeah! it was a 3 day weekend vacation and I tried my best to make the best out of it. So, what we did together with my friends… Last Saturday, I attended the 3rd CDOBloggers meet-up and this time we agreed to meet at Coffee Works located along Rosario Arcade in Limketkai area where we discussed about the upcoming CDOBloggers Christmas Party slash General Eyeball with all the members available and we also discussed about the blogging techniques and other online money making ideas. After the meeting, few of us including yours truly decided to stay around Rosario Arcade to eat and instead of dining at Bigbys majority agreed to try munching the Yellowcab’s 18 inches pizza at the newly opened branch located still at Rosario Arcade in Limketkai compound and we ordered two 18 inches Pizza in different flavors each. It was a hell of hilariously stoooopid full of laughter gathering. The TBA issue must have gotten into our funny bones, that we were so LOL at the YellowCab Station and we didn’t care if the people around (fellow Customers and the YellowCab Pizza Crew) are so annoyed with our LMAO and LOL’s, that we feel so at home in that particular place and we ended up paying the bill amounted to 2,000 pesos, it was just so cheap because the fun we had was something money can’t buy during that time, it is more than watching comedians cracking jokes at the comedy bar. We went home and called it a day!

Sunday afternoon, together with some friends we dined at Tita Fannies Restaurant, one of the newly opened restaurants in the city of Golden Friendship, after hearing the mass at Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan Chapel. The food was great, I ordered one of their sulit meal the Grilled squid an it was awesome and affordable. They cook their foods where the customers can see them and I’m gonna be back to dine there and also recommends it. After the Dinner we walked to Divisoria area since the place is just a walking distance to and from Divisoria, along the way since we still have another non-working holiday a day after, Elva suggested if we still want to stay late and might want to try Cagayan de Oro’s High Ridge to unwind at the panoramic overview of Cagayan de Oro City. We all agreed and called Lawrence to join us since he got a mini-van that we can use for our High Ridge adventure, he agreed to come with us and we waited for him at Divisoria where 5 of us (Elva, Ding, Carl, Clyde and yours truly) pampered ourselves for a half body massage at the park for only 50 pesos by blind masseurs and you can also go for a whole body massage for 100 pesos where they put a tent along the plaza Divisoria, just right in-front of McDonalds and the Big Screen where people enjoyed the “walang sawang” Manny Pacquiao fights.

Pampering is over and Lawrence arrived just in time, we bought foods and drinks at the nearby convenient store and headed to High Ridge. Entrance fee is just 25 pesos and the place is open to the public from 4PM until 10PM. The place is romantic, majestic, fantastic whatever you call it’s awesome. It is like you are a giant watching over the city. It is one of a must visit place too here in CDO but you need to bring your foods if you want to stay longer there since there were no stores around and you need to have with you a ride because no PUJ’s and Taxi’s will be going there unless you have a contacts or if you like hiking, you can still do it with just over a kilometer or two distance to the Aluba main road. We ate, drink and posed and took some pictures there with our camera phone… too bad Alan didn’t go with us since he got a Cannon DSLR Camera with a very expensive lens. Anyway, we didn’t spent an hour there because it’s a little bit late and the place might close anytime soon. We packed our things and hopped in at Lawrence van to leave the place but since we cannot just go home that early since it it just only 10PM, we again decided to go to Opol to finish munching the foods and quenching our thirst with the drinks we brought. We just park along the road just beside the beach and listened to Mommy J and Tita Bernita’s Radio Program at MOR Radio “Awards Night”, while enjoying the sea breeze that night waiting for the time to hit 12 midnight and we went home.

Just this afternoon, Monday as what we previously agreed upon to go for a swimming at Apple Tree Resort we all prepared since it is holiday. Two hours before the scheduled time Ding sent a message thru text that instead of Apple Tree we will just move it to Marco Hotel at Alwana Business Park at Cugman, since Rex will be joining us and he is a frequent swimmer there with his business partners and friends. Marco Hotel is a nice place for tourist to stay when they are in Cagayan de Oro, though it is a bit far from the City Proper. But I still recommends Marco Hotel for your hotel accommodations. We paid our swimming entrance fee for 100 pesos and wosh! we all enjoyed the water. They have pool for children and for adults which is also good for swimming practice for aspiring athletes. I was planning to try the wall climbing there but it is already around 8PM and we thought it is already closed that time so we just ended the day after swimming by going at each other’s home.

While writing this post, Christopher Cross is having a concert at Limketkai Center and I might publish a video of it later.

It was indeed a long weekend but still want to extend it but naahhh… everybody will start the week tomorrow with lots of works to do. So, until our next city escapade…
