Mindanao power transmission backbone finished by 2011

Requirement
Dante G. Gorospe, project cluster head of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), said the Mindanao transmission project is a requirement under the National Grid Code being implemented by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
NGCP is the new concessionaire for the National Transmission Corp.
The MBTP, which connects the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Davao del Norte, will provide reliable power to high-growth areas on the island.
The project was approved by the National Economic and Development Authority Board back in 2006.
Consultations of stakeholders affected by the project were done earlier, spearheaded by Jesus G. Dureza, then presidential peace adviser. Mr. Dureza has been named the so-called “development champion” for the super-region projects in Mindanao. Read more>>>
