Last Saturday October 16, 2010, ChiQ, texted me to go to Limketkai Center for Sanuk Sandcastle Competition. It was really an 11th hour invitation, so I packed my things up and ride on a taxi to the mall.
When I got there, wow! I couldn’t take my eyes out from those sand castles. I can say those are spectacular pieces of art. 8 entries from 8 different groups from Cagayan de Oro City and nearby places showed their gifts, abilities and capacities to awe the people with their craftsmanship of creating magnificent structures made of sands.
The participants are the following groups with their respective colors:
Dark Green Team – Sand Nuke
Orange team – Adcashemanic
Red Team- Noah
Yellow Team – Champoppers
Lightblue Team – Tagaca
Dark Blue – Smileys
Beige Team – Fungee
Lightgreen – Debuho Fliganon
Each group has been given 5 hours to build their piece considering the following criteria – Architecture, Creativity, SANUK Logo Inclusion and Overall Impact. All groups have given their best to create the paramount structure and the results are awesome and that made them all winners. But only one comes out as ultimate winner or champion and Orange Team the Adcashemanic got the top place, next is Light Green Team– Debuho Fliganon as 1st runner up and 2nd runner up is Dark Green Team – Sand Nuke. Each winner received PhP.20,000, PhP.14,000 and PhP.10,000 respectively.
Thanks Sanuk for your invitation, now I know how cool Sanuk sandals are. Before I thought it’s a shoes, but now I know it is a sandal. I am just sad that there are people wearing it as shoes in places where it shouldn’t be wear at all. That is why my conception of Sanuk before is WTF! It is because some people don’t know when and where to use it. Just don’t use it as shoes and you’ll look great with it.
Just remember, when you say SANUK – These are not shoes, they’re sandals!
Smile! And pass it on… OXOX
