Still, Cagayan de Oro has the WORST Traffic Problem in the Country

I heard on the news last week that the city government of Cagayan de Oro is planning to get a loan, for a proposed project relating to solve the traffic problem of the city by purchasing CCTV cameras to be installed on certain places around the city to monitor traffic. (I just hope this will not pursue because this could be another way to get kickbacks, way of corruptions by you know who they are.)

I don’t think that CCTV cameras are the key in solving the awful traffic problems of the city. CCTV cameras cannot contribute good solutions to solve the Traffic problems in the city, because the core reason of the worse traffic problem in the city are the drivers. Around the city, drivers most specially in public utility are uneducated, undisciplined, and disrespectful drivers and that is only in Cagayan de Oro. Continue reading

I am not a hip-hop enthusiast and I don’t know hip-hop dancing. I just like watching them do the cool slick moves, spins and the tumbling. Practice requires doing those moves. Panagtagbo Mindanao – a Visual Arts Exhibit with Visayas and Mindanao Artists

How Panagtagbo Mindanao came about?

Art is an expression of one’s inner state and insight conveyed through brushes and paints, strings and voices, body motions and expression and in many different forms. As believed by many artists, art constantly redefined itself by breaking new grounds. Artists always create something new and different and this need to be shared and communicated with other artisans who have the passion for art.

“This is how the Panagtagbo exhibit was first conceived” as shared by a renowned Boholano artist Glenn Lumantaw. During the Sandugo Festival in 2009, Lumantaw enjoined all the other artists in Visayas using various media and interests to gather and share their art to promote art per se.

The exhibit displayed a variety of art form. Each artists has its own style ranging from installation, visual, reconstruction and music but they have one thing in common in which they all have the passion to progress their perception of art. Each seeking to evolve, to try and create something “never been done before”. Each has their own way of showing their passion via different genre.

Accordingly, “Panagtagbo” art exhibit refers to a collaboration of art medium without necessarily being confined to a specific theme and interpretation unlike in other conventional art exhibits which limits the artists to create something based on a common idea. The first exhibit turned out to be a success and it attracted more artists until it became a large gathering of artists from Visayas.

Consequently, the idea was extended to the neighbouring archipelago, Mindanao, due to the desire to encourage other artists to share their works in one gathering. Hence, “Panagtagbo Mindanao” came into being. This event coincides with the National Arts Month celebration 2011. It is a celebration where Mindanaoans meet with the Visayas Artists and share their various forms of passion in art.

Here are the wonderful works of art of the geniuses: Continue reading

More Pizza, More Bites and More Cravings

When I was young, having a pizza for a break period in my elementary years is already a reason of my delight. Yummy’s pizza or Mom’s Pizza is the only available pizza during those years, with its not so overly loaded toppings and pinoy style sweet pizza sauce and melted cheese, somehow I still love the taste til now.

Since last year, Pizza Parlors are sprouting around the city like a mushroom, and I make sure I have tasted their specialty pizza flavors everytime there is a new pizza parlor. I am a foodie but not particular in food tasting, so I am not an ideal food reviewer. But I know which is good and which is not, so far, of all the pizza parlors around the City of Golden Friendship these days, each has its own special flavors that I like.

More Bites Pizza

Last day, my friends from CDObloggers invited me on facebook for an ad hoc food trip at More Bites Pizza. I have heard More Bites sometimes last year but never tasted it yet, so I decided to go. It’s a treat, so why should I say no? LOL. Continue reading
