Good News to all Christmas carolers in the City of Golden Friendship, a twin event featuring the annual lantern and choral group contest dubbed as “HALAD SA PASKO 2008: “Indigay sa Parol and “Bangga sa Daygon” is set on December 16 at SM City Atrium in Cagayan de Oro City.

This is a joint endeavor of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro through the City Tourism Office under City Tourism Officer Imma Rae Gatuslao and the City Tourism Board led by Chairperson Josy Aliñabon, in partnership with SM City Cagayan de Oro.

The “Indigay sa Parol” is a lantern contest open to all barangays of the city. Each entry must be endorsed by the Punong Barangay. The lantern must be made of recyclable and reusable waste materials and must be all-weather.
