Bantog ra, gakataw-an ko kung maka litok ko ug in-ani nga sinul-tian sa lain nga lugar like Cebu City. Well, each place has it’s own different terms and dialects specially here in the archipelago of the pearl of the orient – Philippines. I should say, it’s a good thing we have differences on our terms or dialects in order to distinguish immediately where a certain person coming from. With certain tones we know that a certain person is from Ilo-ilo. With a certain wave of the way a person talks, we can distinguish that a person is from Cebu, how about an aggressive pitch of the way a certain waray talks?
Every region here in the Philippines has its own dialect and not only that, we can also distinguish a certain person was or has visited a certain place in the Philippines by just looking at what his/her “pasalubong” is. Durian and durian candy products can easily be recognized from Davao, Calamay and Peanut kisses are from Bohol, Masareal, Danggit Bulad and Shamrock otap is certainly from Cebu, Pineapple is from Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, Delicious bun called pastel is from Camiguin which was connected to Cagayan de oro later on. And have you tasted the sisig in Pampangga? How about Bicol Express of course from Bicol region and there are a lot of products from all over the Philippines that you can identify that it is coming from a certain province or region.
I could say, Philippines is a wonderful place to explore because it has general culture as a whole but with specific cultures in every region and provinces. Different scenic tourist spots and views and adventures that you will surely enjoy from Batanes group of Islands on the North to Jolo, Sulo here in Southern Philippines.
