I heard on the news last week that the city government of Cagayan de Oro is planning to get a loan, for a proposed project relating to solve the traffic problem of the city by purchasing CCTV cameras to be installed on certain places around the city to monitor traffic. (I just hope this will not pursue because this could be another way to get kickbacks, way of corruptions by you know who they are.)

I don’t think that CCTV cameras are the key in solving the awful traffic problems of the city. CCTV cameras cannot contribute good solutions to solve the Traffic problems in the city, because the core reason of the worse traffic problem in the city are the drivers. Around the city, drivers most specially in public utility are uneducated, undisciplined, and disrespectful drivers and that is only in Cagayan de Oro. Continue reading →
